A cookie is a small piece of text that a website stores locally in your browser so it can restore a preference or a state on your next visit.

Cookie we use: this site sets exactly one cookie — `NEXT_LOCALE`, whose value is `en` or `zh`. It is set automatically by the next-intl middleware, expires after one year, uses SameSite=Lax, and is never read by a third-party domain.

What we do not use: no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no TikTok Pixel, no advertising-network cookies, pixels or scripts. No cross-site tracking. No behavioural profiling.

How to control: you can clear or refuse cookies in your browser at any time. Refusing `NEXT_LOCALE` will not break the site — it just means each visit defaults to `en`.

Changes: if the site later gains features (sign-in, subscriptions, community) that require additional cookies, we will update this inventory and flag the change at the top of the page.
